let’s catch up

These pictures might be a tad old, but I’m still talking about that weekend.

Two weekends ago I went out to Vegas with my housemate, Timmy, to, what I thought, watch the team he crews for, Robbie Brand Racing, race, . Uh…no. As soon as I stepped out of the rig, Dallas put me to work with the tires. By the end of the weekend, I at least thought I knew something about racing. Apparently, I knew enough. Robbie, the driver, invited me to travel with the crew this coming weekend to a race in Irwindale.

That’s right — I’m sort of on a race team. Never saw that one coming. Enjoy the pictures.

That’s Dallas looking at the camera and the rest of the crew watching Robbie during the first, and only, practice session. The car seemed a little loose during practice, I think it was loose, or was it tight, this is why I didn’t make decisions. But we got things straightened out come race time.

That’s Robbie walking in front of the car. Timmy pretty much completely re-did the front end during the week.

And that’s Timmy. At 19, the kid is making decisions and running part of the operation. Not bad for a kid who can’t even drink on the team’s main sponsors, Lagunitas, a micro brew from Petaluma. Check them out and drink them if you can.

And now for some hardcore racing action…

So let’s review, I worked on a race crew. bad ass!

Santa Monica

So it was around 100 degrees on Sunday, and it wasn’t at the beach. So I drove to Santa Monica and walked around for the afternoon. You should try it sometime.
